Overview:

Provide assistance to the Grants Manager and grant funded departments in planning, maintaining, and coordinating the daily fiscal operations and accurately fulfilling AVENUE 360’ accounting functions regarding reporting, budget, and compliance issues in a timely and professional manner in compliance with State & Federal rules and regulations

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitors, leads, and directs the billing related to grants for client services.
  • Responsible for maintaining grant funds within accounting software.
  • Responsible for monitoring grants and providing updates to Grants Manager and other grant funded Department Management.
  • Work closely with Grants Manager to undertake the completion of all financial reporting, financial data entry, data management, and data analysis necessary to complete processes related to grants.
  • Assists in reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating the grants budget process, assuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, standards, and procedures.
  • Maintain grant budget files.
  • Assist in coordinating the on-going budget process that includes compiling, analyzing, and monitoring grant budgets.
  • Establish and maintain current files for reporting, verify for accuracy when process is completed.
  • Perform grant yearend closing and assist with external audit.
  • Works closely with Accounts Payable Specialist on data needed for monthly financial reports.
  • Performs quality management/assurance activities.
  • Maintain regular attendance.
  • Other tasks as assigned by the Grants Manager and Chief Financial Officer.

Education, Licensure/Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
  • Master’s degree in accounting or business administration highly preferred. 

Experience, Skills/Abilities Related Requirements:

  • Must have knowledge of generally accepted budgeting, accounting and auditing principles, computerized accounting reports, standards and procedures; accounting and fiscal systems, policies, procedures and practices; record-keeping techniques; technical aspects of budgeting; and familiarity with basic computer systems and the ability to utilize various software efficiently.
  • Must be able to perform technical accounting work involved in the audit of financial and statistical records, analyze and resolve problems and draw accurate conclusions, maintain records—prepare clear and concise financial and accounting analysis reports, work independently with little direction, analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action, meet schedules and timelines, plan and organize work, work confidentially with discretion, and communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • A strong foundation in fund accounting required.

Continuing Education and Training Requirements:

  • Participates in trainings required by the agency, funding source(s), and/or as required by licensure if applicable.
