Role Overview

The Dental Treatment Coordinator serves as the critical link between patients and Avenue 360’s dental services. This role ensures patients understand their treatment plans, receive timely care, and fulfill their financial responsibilities. Through strong communication, coordination, and compliance, the Treatment Coordinator directly supports the organization’s mission of improving oral health outcomes and completing treatment plans within one year. This role is accountable for delivering measurable results aligned with departmental and organizational goals and ensuring alignment with our company vision and core values.

Areas of Accountability

This position is directly accountable for the following key areas:

  • Patient Treatment Plan Coordination
    • Monitoring and guiding patients through their dental treatment plans, ensuring timely completion and alignment with Avenue 360’s 1-year treatment goal.
  • Patient Communication & Education
    • Ensures patients clearly understand their treatment plans, oral health, and financial responsibilities increasing compliance through one-on-one education and support.
  • Insurance Verification & Payment Collection
    • Verifies insurance eligibility (including Medicaid and Medicare), coordinates re-certifications, and accurately implements and collects co-pays and other payments.
  • Schedule & Patient Flow Management  
    • Manages accurate appointment scheduling, daily schedule reviews, and efficient patient flow to minimize wait times and improve the overall clinic experience.
  • Documentation & EHR Compliance
    • Maintains accurate, up-to-date documentation in patient charts and electronic health records (EHR), ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and privacy laws.
  • One-year dental experience from a similar setting.
  • Formal training from a vocational school in lieu of the above.
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications; experience with the EHR database systems is also desirable. 
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish highly desired.
  • Registered Dental Assistant with TSBDE highly desired
  • The minimum number of continuing education (CE) hours to maintain licensure must be obtained annually.

Education, Licensure/Certification:

  • High School Diploma or GED

     Experience, Skills/Abilities Related Requirements:

  • One-year dental experience from a similar setting.
  • Formal training from a vocational school in lieu of the above.
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
